BBQ Inauguration

We finally got to use our brand new grill two weekends in a row.  The first time we BBQ'd spareribs and the second time we BBQ'd beef briskets.  Michael slathered the briskets  with homemade dry rub and babysat the briskets for four hours.

What do you do when you have four hours to kill?  Get a head massage!!

Watch a snail crawl.....

Got my fork!  Where's the chow?

Shoot the breeze.
Mmmmmm....brisket, done the Southern way (low and sloooow).

Okay, who's ready to eat?

Star light star bright

Michael showed the kids how to look at the moon through the telescope. It was a nice clear night and we were enjoying the warm Spring evening on the deck. The kids got to play outside all day and everyone in the neighborhood was out until dark. It was one of those afternoons and evenings you don't want to end.

Masterpieces

Sebastian and Elizabeth created their masterpieces on the driveway. I can't remember who drew what but they created a whole under water scene. I love it when they use their creativity. Especially Sebastian because he loves to doodle and draw. His notebooks from school are always filled with drawings.

Family portrait (I'm not sure who's family)

Live human-toddler model

Doesn't Ava's outline look like a "crime scene"? I think the two bumps on the head is a clear "give-away" (major clue)!

There she blows

Ms. Rachel gave each of the kids a pinwheel at the end of Kindermusic class. Ava was learning how to blow into her pinwheel to make it spin. Look at the expressions on her face. How cute is she?!

Save the last dance for me

I'm a few weeks behind but here are pictures from the last Kindermusic class.  You can see the difference from the first classes and the last classes.  Ava became more comfortable in the class.  She would still sit on my lap most of the time but she would sing and dance a lot more.  I didn't sign her up for the Summer classes.  We will hopefully return in the Fall when we need an indoor activity.

This is what mutiny looks like

This is what 30 minutes will "buy" us on Saturday mornings.

Future doctor

Here is Sebastian with his "life size" twin.  He had created this art project a few weeks back when Michael and I had visited his classroom and it was hanging in the school hallway.  I think there's a great "likeness", right down to the eyeglasses (you can see it if you click on the photo to enlarge).
