Michael's new job is going to require him to travel every once in a while so we decided to play on our macbooks (laptops) one night to test out the video chat capabilities. The macbooks have this program called iChat and you basically set up a free online account on Mac.com and we can place "calls" to each other. The macbooks have built in webcams so we can hold video conversations when Michael is on a business trip. That way he can say goodnight to the Ava and Sebastian every night. Yeah, we sound like one of those cheesy commercials where Daddy and son are chatting to each other from long distance. Buy hey, if we have the technology, why not?
So here is a short video clip of us getting down right silly when we were playing around with the video chat. iChat has "effects" so you can change the background into various scenaries. You'll understand once you see the video. Sorry for my hyena laugh....
You can also do special effects on iChat and distort your face to make yourself look like a cartoon character. Could you imagine if your drivers license looked like one of these pictures? As you can see, we were still in the middle of our video chat. I'm taking a snapshot of my laptop screen. Michael would be in the main frame because I'm chatting to him and I'm in the smaller split screen in the corner. Pretty cool!
