Last Hoopla! (and a TON of pictures)

I'm a week behind in posting our Ocean City, MD vacation pictures. Since this weekend is Labor Day weekend, I thought I'd better post something before Summer is officially over.

Day 1 - Travel to Ocean City, MD. Entertaining ourselves while waiting for lunch orders to arrive. Can you guess who's face is who's?

Day 1, Part 2 - Arriving in Ocean City, MD
Ava posing by the boats docked next to our condo.

Elizabeth and Sebastian exploring the "backyard"
There were actually jellyfishes swimming in the bay!
It's alive! The discovery of "crabbing" in the bay.
Day 2 - A jam packed day!
Having breakfast out on the back deck.

Elizabeth's best effort to hide.
Enjoying the early morning beach breeze on the boardwalk.
Sebastian and Mommy sat in the back. He couldn't reach the peddles so he had to stand ;-)
The front view and our horn blower.
Day 2, Part 2
The kids posing next to the Ripley's Museum on the boardwalk.
Sebastian and Elizabeth posing at the end of the boardwalk.
A hurricane was out on the coast so people weren't allowed far in the water due to turbulent riptides.
Sebastian checking out the currents and waves.
Elizabeth talking to her Mommy on the iphone.
Day 2, Part 3

Since the beach was pretty much off limits, we decided to go back to the condo and just check out the crabs in the bay. Hmmm....and people eat these things?
After dinner, we took the kids back to the boardwalk and midway to enjoy the amusement rides and entertainment. The carousel was ride friendly for Ava and Mommy.
Do you think the kids had a blast?
Michael and Sebastian finally got to go on the "Sling Shot" ride. It's a long family story but Sebastian has been wanting to go on this ride ever since he was two yrs old.
Sebastian and Daddy trying to win a prize for Ava.
Ava picking out her prize.
This was Ava's first choice for her prize. After she made a phone call (to whom, I don't know), she decided she didn't want another puppy and went back for the brown bear.
Either the animals need to get smaller or Ava needs to grow!
I had to laugh when Sebastian pointed out the white puppies on display. He said, "this is where Ava's puppy was born." He's correct. Little does he know, Daddy won that puppy four years ago for Sebastian when he was only five yrs old! Ava ended up adopting Sebastian's white puppy.
What's a boardwalk without balloons?
Posing with their balloon selections.
Scary Sponge Bob! There were several of them on the boardwalk and trust me, they looked like molestors!!
Free Polish water ice samples.
Day 3

A full day at the water park (six hours worth)!

Day 3, Part 2
Ending the day at the local ice cream parlor.

Day 4

First official day on the beach and another jam packed day. Every morning, the kids had to sit at the table after breakfast and do a sheet of MATH! This was Daddy's idea of getting them mentally ready for school next week. What a cruel trick ;-)

What do you mean the shoes don't go with the attire?
Sebastian and Elizabeth warming up on the boogie boards.
Sebastian catching a wave. Until he caught two pounds of sand in his swimming trunks and gave it up.
But first....some more body slamming.
I don't think they really knew what they were building. Ava just wanted to "deconstruct" sand.
A nice pose.
Day 4, Part 2

We hit the beach in the morning and then returned to the amusement park for more rides. When we bought all day passes to the water park, it was good for the rides the next day. So we went back in the late afternoon.

Making sure Ava met the height requirement for the toddler rides. She did :-)

Sebastian wanted to ride on this ride because we told him this was his first ride at this park four years ago.
Ava wasn't too sure she was going to like this ride.
After the ride was over, she finally broke out with a smile.
The kids on the older rides. They had a side for the toddlers and a side for the older kids, which was nice.
Ava LOVED this ride. The cars just went around in a big circle and when you reached the curves, the car would "whip lash" around the corners. Ava and I rode on this ride 2-3 times.

"Help....get me off this thing!"

The view from the ferris wheel.
Hiiiiiii Daaaaaaddddy!!!!!! Hiiiii kiiiiiids!
The last ride of the evening (sad I remember).
Day 4, Part 3

The owners of the condo lived below us and they were having a taco party that night. The owner saw us on the beach that morning and told us to bring the kids down to play.

Sebastian and Elizabeth are looking down from the deck at the kids below and throwing tortilla chips in the water for the seagulls.

The kids were fishing out a dead crab from the water...yuck!
Elizabeth giving Cooper a chip.
I think Cooper ate half of the chip bag that night.
Ava tumbling in the grass. We were outside until 10 p.m.!
Day 5, Part 1

Ava's morning hairdo, "What's love got to do with it" (Tina Turner impersonator?)
Another hot day at the beach. We rented a beach umbrella because Daddy was sunburned from the water park.
Neat sand sculpture on the beach. This was taken at dusk when we returned to the boardwalk after a day at the beach.
Mom and Dad taking a two minute break for a photo opportunity.
Playing some beach frisbee.
Day 5, Part 2

Ava seeing everything in "3D" (she thought the 3D glasses were sunglasses).

Sebastian and Elizabeth climbing on the wooden airplane on the beach. Ava's turn! Sebastian and Elizabeth peering from a ship window.
Leonardio DiCaprio...where are you when we need you? (You have to have seen "Titanic" to get this) ;-)
Ava isn't going to wait for Leonardo...she's bailing out!
The whole reason why we went to the boardwalk and beach...free concert on the beach. They did a tribute to Frank Sinatra.
Family portrait!
Sebastian and Elizabeth getting a henna tattoo before going home.

Day 6, Part 1

A non beach activity day. I took Sebastian and Elizabeth out on the Sea Rocket while Daddy and Ava hung back at the condo.

View of the beach from the boat.
Back on land, Elizabeth and Ava were demonstrating their "carpet surfing" abilities.

Day 7

Having a low key day since we were coming to the end of our Vacation.
Just posing next to the bay (which is right next to the condo rental)

We stopped at a souvenir shop because Elizabeth wanted to pick out a sea shell to take home. While we were looking at the hermit crabs, I think two of the hermit crabs escaped from the glass containers.

No, we did not buy the sunglasses but used them from props!
Ava and Daddy on their phones while waiting for Elizabeth and Sebastian to come out of the video arcade on the boardwalk.

Elizabeth and Ava getting their jet ski lesson on land.

On the last night we went to Phillips Seafood house for a seafood buffet. Michael didn't like it very much because it was a buffet. The kids and I on the other hand, loved it!

The multi uses of empty crab shells...finger puppets?
