Ava's first well visit

Poor Ava. She had some bloodwork done as the second part of her physical last week with her pediatrician. Today, Michael held Ava while she got her blood drawn. They took six tubes or vials! Of course, after she wailed, she stopped about five seconds after they finished. I was only glad I was in the next room when they did it.

Last week wasn't any better. When she got her first check up by our family pediatrician, she got six immunization shots. Since we weren't sure how accurate the medical records were from Vietnam, the doctor recommended getting some boosters. I was the lucky one who got to hold her for the shots. Our poor little sweetheart. She didn't get a good lasting impression of both the doctor's office and the laboratory in the hospital.

She got two shots in each leg and one in each arm. Ouch!
