Revisiting Narita Airport in Tokyo (again)

We were originally going to reserve a day room at the Narita Airport since we had an eight hour layover. You can take a shower and rent a room for a few hours. But as we found out, they only had a single bed in the single rooms and they only had single rooms available to rent. We would have had to rent two single rooms for $39 each. We didn't feel like spending the money so we decided to go to the United check in counter to confirm our seats for the next flight.

When we arrived at Narita airport, it was almost 8 a.m. The United ticket counter was closed and wasn't going to open until 12:30 p.m. Our flight was suppost to leave 1:50 p.m.! Everything was shut down at the airport. None of the restaurants were open and McDonals didn't open until 8:30 a.m. So we wondered around the airport and walked past the United VIP Lounge. We went in to see if we could confirm our seats and also sit in the lounge area.

Well we found out that we had to pay $50 per person to use their lounge and we could book our seats. We relented and paid the hefty service fee. Michael and I were able to book our seats in Economy Plus with antoher Bassinet. Scott and Dallas could not book in Economy Plus because they said the flight was full. Scott had paid for Economy Plus in his initial ticketing but all they could give him was bulkhead in Economy.
