Maternity Ward in HCMC

We stopped by the largest Maternity ward in HCMC. This is where the babies were actually born. There has been quite some controversy regarding Ava's pierced ears. Twice now we've been asked if we pierced her ears soon after we got Ava. They rarely pierce baby's ears in Vietnam and it was a puzzle as to why Ava's birth mother would choose to pierce her ears and then give her away for adoption. Of course Ava's ears were supposedly pierced at the hospital, before she was taken to the orphanage. We were told that was highly unlikely the case. We will never know.
